Marine Discovery Cruise

Discover the marine life that calls Moreton Island (Mulgumpin) home

Join us in spotting a world of wildlife

A nature lover’s dream, Moreton Bay is home to abundant wildlife. Home to the largest population of resident dolphins in Australia, five species of sea turtles, birds and gentle dugongs. Our Marine Discovery Cruise is accompanied by expert commentary to foster a deeper connection with the natural and cultural heritage of the region. With a bountiful population of over 700 dolphins in the region, Moreton Island (Mulgumpin) is home to one of the largest groupings of the curious mammal in the world. Five sea turtle species can be spotted year-round: green, loggerhead, flatback, Pacific ridley, and hawksbill turtles. Dugongs can be found grazing in seagrass meadows, including our favourite resident dugong, Douggie. The Marine Discovery Cruise offers the opportunity to learn more about the rich cultural heritage and history of the region.
